Czech Castles Exhibition
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in cooperation with the National Museum of the Czech Republic and George Town World Heritage Incorporated will stage a unique exhibition of Czech castles in George Town, Penang from May 26th to June 30th, 2016. The exhibition will be officially launched on May 26th in The Star Pitt St. Gallery with the presence of Chief Minister of Penang, YAB Lim Guan Eng as the guest of honour.
The exhibition presents 33 most imposing castles and chateaus of the Czech Republic that are presented on contemporary photographs of their exteriors, interiors and aerial shots together with their historical drawings.
Accompanied with 3D projection and TV program about 10 centuries of architecture in the Czech Republic, the exhibition reflects the main tourist monuments as well as interesting periods from the Czech history.
The exhibition offers views of the most significant historical buildings such as Prague Castle, Karlstein, Konopiste, Cesky Krumlov, Lednice-Valtice Complex, Bezdez, Hluboka nad Vltavou, castle ruins of Landstejn, Rabi and others. Some of the historical monuments such as chateaus Litomysl and Kromeriz and town conservation areas of Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Kutna Hora or Telc are enlisted as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The presentation of Czech castles will be accompanied by screening of a Czech musical comedy “A Night at Karlstein”, which is set at one of the most beautiful Czech castles Karlstein.
