George Town World Heritage Incorporated is calling for quotations from qualified parties to manage and execute the Pai Thee Kong (Jade Emperor God’s birthday) Celebration to be held on 1 February 2020 in the surrounding area of Chew Jetty in Weld Quay, George Town.
Hosted by the State Government of Penang, and jointly organised with the service centre of YB Daniel Gooi Zi Sen, State Assemblyman of Pengkalan Kota and Penang Global Tourism, the Celebration is held on the night of the eight day of Chinese New Year, and is among the most significant ritual events for the Chinese community in Penang. George Town World Heritage Incorporated has also been organising the countdown event since 2016, while successfully empowering community participation.
The successful proposer will be responsible for planning and managing all aspects of the Celebration, of which the programme shall include but not limited to cultural performances during the ceremony in the morning and during the countdown in the evening.
The proposer should possess relevant experience, strong capacity in event management, and a good track record in financial expenditure. They would also need to develop a crowd safety plan and event risk management assessment plan. Commitment to work with a green agenda, support for the local economy, and willingness to provide opportunities for community skills development will be of added value.
Those interested may submit the quotation via e-mail to [email protected] by 15 Nov 2019 (Friday), 12pm. Shortlisted submissions will be notified within two weeks after the closing date. For more information, please contact Mr Vick Quah (016-561 3523, [email protected]).
