BOTH bridge links to Penang island will be partially closed on Sunday for the Penang International Bridge to Bridge Ride (PgIB2B) 2019.

The Penang Bridge will close from 6am to 8.30am from the island to the mainland while the Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge or second Penang bridge will close from 8am to noon from Batu Kawan to the island.

Cyclists will head towards the Penang Bridge and pedal along a secondary road towards Juru before regrouping at the water station in Batu Kawan after 33km.

The second leg will see cyclists on the 24km Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge which is the longest in South East Asia.

Event jersey is compulsory for all participants.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow is expected to flag off the event which will end at the starting point.

Lim apologised to motorists for the inconvenience caused by the bridge closure.
