Float above on a hot air balloon this 9th and 10th February 2016. The Penang Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2016 will be a one-of-a-kind experience and it is the only hot air balloon festival organised on an island in Malaysia. What better way to celebrate the Chinese New Year festivity with your family and friends where there’s loads of fun and excitement from 7am to 9.30pm, both days at Padang Polo Penang.
Organised consecutively for the 2nd time, the Penang Hot Air Balloon Fiesta will see 15 hot air balloons by international and local balloonists over the two-day festival. Aside from balloon displays, there will be ‘night glow’ shows with fireworks display on the first day, free flying balloons and cold inflation. In addition to the impressive hot air balloons, there will be family-friendly activities, creative workshops and many more!
Free Shuttle Service – for ease of parking during the event days, shuttle buses will be provided by the state on the island to Padang Polo.=
Parking – designated parking areas will also be provided to avoid traffic congestion where it will be on first come first serve basis.
Tickets
The grand event, sponsored by the state, promises a one-of-a-kind experience. On both days, three tethered balloons are open for rides to the public while a cold inflation balloon will allow everyone to walk into the hot air balloon interior for photo opportunities. What to watch out for are the six special-shaped balloons that will amaze you to no end.
Tethered tickets will be available for purchase on the respective event days only – no reservations or pre-selling of tickets. Ticket purchase will be on ‘per person per ticket’ and first-come-first-served basis. Hence, the person in queue is only allowed to purchase 1 ticket. Limited to the first 150 persons in queue, numbered tags will be given out 30 minutes prior to the opening of the counter.
A minimum height of 4 feet is required to ride on the hot air balloon. Should the weather prohibit the balloons to go up, visitors may proceed to the ticket counter and claim for a full refund. Safety is our utmost priority but passengers are to ride at their own risk. Appropriate clothing is advised such as pants or shorts for the balloon ride as passengers need to climb into the hot air balloon basket.
Other Activities
Besides the impressive hot air balloons, there will be family-friendly activities such as fun inflatables, creative workshops, archery, paddle boat rides on a huge pool, reverse bungees for both adults and kids, giant trampoline and many more!
