The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Penang and the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre (SBPAC), Thailand, in cooperation with Penang State will be organizing 5 day “Thai Festival 2016” at Esplanade, Penang.
The main objective of this Festival is to showcase Thainess, to locals and Thai tourism in Malaysia, in particular in Penang. It also aims at promote connectivity at people-to-people level through social and culturalinteraction and to foster goodwill and mutual understanding already existing between Thailand and Malaysia.
Penangites might have enjoyed the Thai Festival last year. It’s here again this year with more varieties. The daily events which will start from 11.00 am to 11.00 pm comprise cultural performances, drawing exhibition, Thai martial art demonstration, traditional Thai massage and the selling of Thai food and products from North to South and East to West of Thailand at promotion price. There is noadmission fee.
There will be 70 vendors in the showcase from various kinds of authentic Thai food and fruits to high quality Thai souvenir, crafts, decorative items, jewelry and a lot more including halal products. This year visitors are invited to taste various kinds of Thai fruits and fruit juices such as durian, pomelo, mango, mangosteen, rambutan, longanand guava. Free of charge.
Participants in the event can win wonderful prizes throughout the day through quizzes, Tom Yum contest, and a daily “Lucky Draw”. The Grand Prize is two return tickets from Penang to Krabi.
